25th Chapter Anniversary Celebration 
December 9, 2020

The Palm Coast Flagler County Alumnae Chapter (PCFCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on December 9, 1995 and has upheld the sorority's tradition of public service to its tri-county area.  Over the years, the chapter has developed programs that initiate social change, encourage academic excellence, and elevates cultural awareness.  We have provided an extensive array of public service opportunities in line with our organization's National Five Point Programmatic Thrust which includes:

  • Economic Development

  • Educational Development

  • International Awareness and Involvement

  • Physical and Mental Health

  • Political Awareness and Involvement

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC celebrated its 25th Chapter Anniversary with a Virtual Tea?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC originally held meetings in a classroom at Daytona Beach Community College - Palm Coast Campus?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC's first fundraiser was to support its Scholarship Program, which since 1997 has provided over 75 scholarships totaling more than $35,000?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC had the honor of conducting the Omega Omega service for sorority member, Shirley Chisholm?  (Shirley Chisholm was the first African American woman elected to the United States Congress.)

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC started the first Head Start Daisy Girl Scout Troop in Bunnell in collaboration with the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council of Florida?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC provided an on-site lending library for Flagler Head Start students in Bunnell when the community Book Mobile was discontinued, donating over 100 children's books allowing students to have access to books in their homes?

DID YOU KNOW that in 1998, PCFCAC began sponsoring annual community Health and Healing Forums with healthcare professionals offering free health services including exams and screenings, plus presentations, demonstrations, products and information by businesses, survivors and others?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC collaborated with the Church of the Rock Sidewalk Sunday School and sponsored lunch for children in Bunnell on the 5th Saturday of each month at the George Washington Carver Recreation Center?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC collected books and school supplies to support communities in The Gambia, West Africa?

 

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC has provided financial support to the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Elementary School, The Cynthia M.A. Butler-McIntyre Campus in Cherette, Haiti?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC held its first voter registration rally and Restoration of Rights Workshop in Espanola in 2002?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC was nominated for a Regional Award at Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc's 50th National Convention?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC was recognized with a national award, and sponsored a Presidential Academy Youth Participant to the Centennial Convention in 2013?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC collected and donated new and gently used business attire to provide women living in homeless shelters with the clothing needed for employment opportunities?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC was recognized with a certificate of appreciation from Pastor Charles Silano of Grace Ministries Church in Palm Coast?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC was recognized for its commitment and dedication to community service and awarded the Bethune Cookman University Women's Advisory Board Unsung Hero Award?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC collected over 2,400 lbs of food for food pantries in Flagler, Putnam and St. Johns counties?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC collected new and gently used winter items for homeless students and families in St. Johns County Schools?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC is a Lifetime Member of the Fort Mose (Moh-say) Historical Society in St. Augustine?  (Fort Mose is the first legally sanctioned free black town in the present-day United States, a National Historic Landmark and an important element in the Florida Black Heritage Trail.)

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC is a life member of the NAACP?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC collected nearly 1,000 pairs of shoes for Soles4Souls? (Soles4Souls turns unwanted shoes and clothing into opportunity, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use - providing relief, creating jobs and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty.) 

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC brings awareness to, participates in and financially supports Breast Cancer Benefits (Walk/Runs) in Flagler and Putnam counties?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC helped sponsor the Street Light ministry in St. Augustine which was the only safe, wholesome environment available for middle and high school students to gather to play basketball, socialize, dance and interact with positive role models? 

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC participated in a 2020 Voters Registration Car Caravan in Flagler, Putnam and St. Johns counties?

DID YOU KNOW that PCFCAC donated Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to the Families in Transition program of Flagler County Public Schools?
